& Features for 2013

Designer Rooms- Everything OLD is NEW again! Check out these 2013 Designer Rooms that appeared in the 2013 show!

Denise Sabia, interior designer extraordinaire and author of “The Painted Home” blog, has an exceptional eye that takes everyday items found in flea markets, thrift shops or simply along the roadside and turns them into unique pieces that freshen and warm your home … without breaking your budget. Denise will be designing a room especially for the Philadelphia Home Show that will feature salvaged items that are repurposed to create a room filled with fresh ideas.

Room #2 is designed by Philadelphia Home Show Designer contest winner: Dana Marston. Dana operates a blog called CircaDee whose mission is to inspire home through repurposing, refinishing & reinventing.  Learn to give vintage, family heirlooms and found materials a new life when mixing them with modern decor.

Denise Sabia presented "Upcycling - formerly known as Trash Picking" on the Xfinity Experience Stage on the following days:

Saturday, February 2nd - 4pm
Saturday, February 9th - 3pm
Sunday, February 10th - 12pm

The Bright Light White Room, sponsored by Mealey’s Furniture and Closet & Storage Concepts

The “Bright Light White Room”: Watch what happens when you start with a completely white room and give children and adults thousands of colorful stickers. Each participant is given a sheet of stickers with one instruction: you are allowed to stick them ANYWHERE you want in the room. At the beginning, the entire room and all of its furniture will be white. But slowly over the course of nine days, the room will transform into colorful, festive, overwhelming-to-the-senses… work of art! Come join in the fun… and take part in the Philadelphia Home Show’s first ever… Bright Light White Room, sponsored by Mealey’s Furniture and Closet & Storage Concepts!
